Smart India Hackathon 2018 would be the second massive scale hackathon initiative in India following Smart India Hackathon 2017. It includes 2 sub-editions – Software edition, which is a 36-hr software product development competition and scheduled to be held on Mar 30 & 31, 2018. The Hardware edition, involving the building of hardware solutions will be held later this year. 

Smart India Hackathon is the World’s largest Nation-Building Digital Initiative of the HRD ministry and was conceptualized to harness the creativity and energy of bright young students for the development of our nation. 

To reiterate the efforts towards our PM’s vision of Digital India, MHRD, AICTE, i4C, and Persistent Systems is proud to propose the 2nd edition of this initiative - Smart India Hackathon 2018. Launched on Oct 16, 2017, in Pune, Smart India Hackathon 2018 harnesses creativity & expertise of students, builds a funnel for ‘Startup India, Standup India’ campaign, crowdsources solutions for improving governance and quality of life, and provides the opportunity to citizens to provide innovative solutions to India’s daunting problems. 

 

Smart India Hackathon 2018 is a massive scale digital product development competition involving all Technology institutes in India with a reach to approximately 30 lakh students. The initiative has challenged the students to think out-of-the-box and offer innovative ideas to build smart applications which will help to address major real-time problems in our country. All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) under the aegis of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) and in collaboration with i4c, MyGov, Persistent Systems, and Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini launched Smart India Hackathon 2018 on Oct 16, 2017, at the hands of Shri. Prakash Javadekar, Hon’ble Minister of HRD, Government of India and Chief Patron, Smart India Hackathon 2018

 

It gives us immense pleasure to inform you that Smart India Hackathon 2018 Software edition will host its Grand Finale on March 30th & 31st, 2018 simultaneously at 28 nodal centers across India. 1296 teams comprising more than 10300 youngsters will be competing non-stop for 36 hours during the Grand Finale to come up with digital solutions to the problem statements posed by 27 union ministries and 17 state departments. Our Institute i.e. Brindavan Institute of Technology & Science, Kurnool is allotted as a nodal center for Smart India Hackathon-2018. In entire Andhra Pradesh, this is the only nodal center. Total 51 teams are allotted to our college and 306 students will be working on different problem statements. The grand finale starts at 8:30 am on 30-03-2018 and continues for 36 hours non-stop up to 8:30 pm on 31-03-2018.
